Mission
Prevent childhood obesity by encouraging physical
activity and optimal nutrition for children through
collaborative community, corporate and educational
efforts.
Geographical area: Collin and Dallas counties
Priorities:

community resources

educational materials

Research and promote best practices

Serve as a forum for speakers

Engage in outreach and media campaigns

Co-founded in January
2005 by Children's Medical Center Dallas and
Community Council of Greater Dallas with a
membership of more than 90 organizations.

Healthy Youth for a Healthy Future Champion Award
Upcoming:
Get Kidz Fit, Saturday, April 25, 2009,
from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at Dallas Fair Park: A free,
fun-filled festival to educate and engage children and
families about wellness and nutrition. It showcases
simple ways families can incorporate physical activity
and nutritious eating into their daily lives.
