Access and Assistance Programs

The Dallas Area Agency on Aging coordinates the Advocacy Center for the Elderly (ACE) Project to assure easy access to services provided to and for Dallas county senior adults and their caregivers. The following programs are part of the Advocacy Center for the Elderly:

Aging Information Office–provides telephone information and assistance.

Benefits Counseling Program–provides legal assistance and awareness regarding public benefits and long term care insurance.

Care Coordination Program–provides case management assistance to program affiliates in solving problems encountered by their clients.

Family Caregiver Support Program–provides support and supplemental services for caregivers and their families.

Legal Assistance–provides counseling and representation by an attorney in non-criminal matters

Nursing Home Ombudsman–provides residents of area nursing homes and their family members with a listening ear regarding complaints to assist with resolutions.
